The goal of the MDT amplifier was to create an instrument that could capture multiple iconic amp tones in one model. Using the Original Sewell as a platform, this mod takes British and high-design boutique American styles and marries them to a unique tweed style tone stack. The result is an amp that produces singing, fat, orchestral tones.

Don’t be fooled by the MDT’s minimalistic approach to controls and options, this amp’s tones are both complex and flexible.  The gain of the amp has been carefully adjusted to draw out the notes from your fingers, but stays very musical and avoids extra noise, compression, and buzz.  It is the latest refinement of Paul and Doug's quest for tone and the ultimate evolution of the amp that got Doug Sewell the gig at PRS.

With exclusive a Brazilian rosewood fingeboard, “brushstroke” bird inlays, and two narrow 408 pickups, this guitar is not only unique...it’s the guitar that Paul Reed Smith has been playing in his studio and on the stage. Carrying on the Modern Eagle tradition, Paul’s Guitar is essentially a production version of his Private Stock guitar. Paul specified every appointment of this instrument from the wood selection, inlay design, pickups, neck shape, a new proprietary finish, and newly designed stoptail bridge. “We’re experimenting with a new stoptail bridge with brass inserts that will first be seen on this model. The bridge is still our aluminum bridge but at the point at which the string starts vibrating it’s brass to promote the musical high range of the guitar,” said Paul.

• Fast/Slow Switch: Select Fast or Slow speed by pushing and releasing this momentary switch.
• On/Off Switch: Engages the effect when On (green LED will light), True bypass when Off.
• Ramp Time: Controls how long it takes to ramp up or down to the set speed (when switching from Fast to Slow, or Slow to Fast speeds)
• Slow Speed: Controls the Slow spin speed (~12:00 O’clock position is actual Rotating speaker slow speed)

• Tweeter Level: Adjusts how much and how intense the Tweeter horn is.
• Bass Level: Adjusts how much and how intense the Bass horn (rotor) is.

• Tweeter Spin LED: Blinks at the tweeter horn spin rate

DLS innovation includes Optical Technology plus industry New controls such as; Bass Throb, Wet-Dry, and Waveform pots to dial in any Vibe sound imaginable! There is even a new internal Brightness pot to adjust brighter or darker Chorus (Vibe) Tone.

Switch between Vibrato & Chorus for pitch bending vibrato, or signature Trower and Gilmour vibes. Dial in that classic Jimi & SRV sound, or vintage Magnatone® amp vibrato, not to mention some new radical vibes like double pulse throb sounds. Select Vintage for more intense, thicker, traditional sounds, or switch to Modern for brighter tones.

A charge pump circuit increases the analog voltage so you get warm, dynamic, high headroom pure analog sound without clipping! An Expression pedal input jack is available for rate with a foot pedal. True switch bypass and non polarity 9vdc input put the Versa Vibe over the top.
